Carolyn (Carrie) Brennan, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer in the department of Early Childhood and Family Studies. She received her PhD in Educational Psychology at the University of Washington along with an Infant Mental Health Graduate Certificate Program in Advanced Practice Nursing from the Barnard Center for Infant Mental Health and Development. She has worked as a classroom teacher, a Senior Policy Analyst at Zero to Three, the Director of Coaching and Professional Development for the Childcare Quality and Early Learning Center for Research and Training, and the Higher Education Manager for the National Center on Quality Teaching and Learning.
Dr. Brennan’s teaching and research focus on professional development for teachers working with infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a variety of early learning settings. She is particularly interested in the ways that innovative institutions of higher education can partner with states as tools of professional development and quality improvement.
