Tuition & Costs

Your cost for attendance is determined by a few factors. Undergraduate and graduate programs will have a different rate. Some programs are tuition-based and charge different rates for Washington and non-Washington residents, while fee-based programs will charge the same amount regardless of your state of residence.

Tuition-based programs

All programs not listed above follow UW tuition rates set by the Office of Planning and Budgeting. You can go into greater detail by visiting the UW tuition dashboard. The following estimated yearly rates are based on your residency.

Undergraduate programs

  • Estimated cost for Washington state residents: $12,645 per year
  • Estimated cost for out-of-state students: $41,997 per year

Graduate programs

  • Washington state residents: $19,584 per year
  • Out-of-state students: $35,352 per year

Estimates are subject to change and may differ due to course load and summer quarter enrollment. Estimates include building fees, technology fees, U-Pass, etc. Additional program-specific fees are not included in these estimates.
