Programs within the general subfield of Educational Policy, Organizations and Leadership inform and promote the renewal of P-12 and postsecondary education, with the ultimate goal of creating powerful and equitable outcomes for all students. We make use of the analytic tools and conceptual policy frameworks from political science, economics, and sociology; the scholarship of public/nonprofit leadership, management, organizations, policy design, implementation, and evaluation; and the wisdom of applied practice in the field of education policy.

Faculty research and teaching inform, for example, the access of historically disenfranchised students from P-12 schooling to postsecondary education; the connections between leadership and student learning; the development of a high-quality teacher and administrator workforce; collaboration with communities to create equitable educational opportunities for all children; the reshaping of community college and university education; and the critical transition from school to the workforce.
