The online Bachelor of Arts in Early Care & Education is a self-sustaining, fee-based program administered by the UW College of Education in partnership with UW Continuum College.
Costs
Course fees for the program are less than or comparable to those of many similar programs in Washington state, putting a valuable UW degree within reach.
Costs for the program's 2023–2024 academic year are expected to be $231 per credit.
In addition to instructional costs, students pay other required fees each quarter, including registration, technology and U-PASS fees. Costs for textbooks and other course materials are extra. All course costs and other fees are due by the third Friday of the quarter.

Financial Aid and Other Funding
Students in the program are strongly encouraged to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA), which is required for many forms of aid, including scholarships and loans. Fee-based students are not eligible for tuition exemptions or university grants, including the Husky Promise program.

Students may qualify for specific scholarships and other financial aid that are tied to their background or prospective career field, including the opportunities below.
Financial Aid for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color
- Early Learning Equity Scholarship for UW ECE and ECFS undergraduate students who identify as BIPOC
- The Early Learning Equity Scholarship seeks to increase the number of highly qualified early educators and leaders in Washington state who identify as Black, Indigenous, or people of color, reducing financial need barriers they encounter in attending and completing an early learning higher education degree. The number of awards and amounts will vary depending on the number of applications.
