Endorsements

An endorsement is the specific subject matter listed on your teaching certificate that you are qualified to teach in Washington state. Students exit teacher preparation programs with a Residency Teaching Certificate and one or more endorsements; for example, students in the Elementary MIT earn an elementary education endorsement, which focuses on grades K-5. Students in the Secondary MIT earn a subject-specific endorsement (math, social studies, etc.) that covers grades 7-12.
