COE EduDawg Express

EduDawg Express is the College of Education student-centered newsletter designed to celebrate, elevate, and resonate with the voices of our EduDawgs. It is an unconventional newsletter presented in the form of a playlist; each issue is an "album" featuring new "songs" that convey new stories each month. Our newsletter runs from November-June.

Our motto is for the students, by the students. EduDawg Express is run by student volunteers and our content is primarily sourced from student submissions. 

EduDawg Express features various kinds of content: (*Except for Edu-ventures, all other sections are submission-based)

  • Ask an EduDawg!:
    • Have a question you need advice on? Submit it and we'll answer your anonymous question!
  • Edu-ventures:
    • Celebrating past events and highlighting new ones.
  • Dawg Doodles:
    • Have a piece of artwork or writing you're proud of? Share it with us!
    • We also accept group submissions - please include all relevant group members' information (name and program) and ask for their permission(s) prior to submission.
  • Campus Chronicles:
    • Did you recently discover a new store, restaurant, or volunteer opportunity that you want to share with your fellow community? Tell us about your adventure/experience!
  • EduDawg Excellence:
    • Have a recent achievement you're proud of? We'd love to highlight it!

Are you interested in submitting content? Fill out the EduDawg Express Submissions Form! We accept submissions on a rolling basis/throughout the year but may have specific deadlines for content to be included in specific months.

Occasionally we will have issue-specific sections for particular months. Submissions for those sections will accepted on a separate unique form distributed via listservs.

Want to Join the Team?

Our EduDawg Express team welcomes you to apply! We accept applications from any College of Education student (both undergraduate and graduate). CoE staff or faculty members who are interested in contributing should reach out to Summer Lo (summerlo@uw.edu) directly.

No prior experience is needed - just a genuine interest in contributing to the EduDawg community! You can learn and grow your skills along the way. EduDawg Express team members take on various roles that they're interested in: advice columnist, writer, editor, graphic designer, and media marketer (potential - new!). The expected average time commitment is 3-6 hours per month, depending on the amount of submissions we receive.

We are accepting applications this year from October 5-17, 2026. The application will close on October 17th at 11:59 PM (PDT). We will also have an EduDawg Express Team Kickoff on October 23rd at 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM.
