Position Description
Temporary Lead Preschool Teacher – Full Time
Little Woods Preschool is looking for a warm, patient, and enthusiastic Lead Preschool Teacher to provide full-time temporary coverage for a teacher’s leave of absence.
This classroom is for children ages 2.5-3.5 years and is kept intentionally small, with 8 or fewer children each day. You’ll also have additional floating staff support.
We’re a close-knit, collaborative team that values nature-based learning, creativity, curiosity, and a supportive classroom environment. Paid planning & cleaning time before and after school is provided.
Requirements:
- MERIT/DCYF qualifications and training
- Has experience working with preschool-aged children
- Is dependable, patient, and nurturing
- Enjoys learning through play, nature, and exploration
- Works well as part of a collaborative team
- Communicates well through written and verbal communication
Additional Information:
- Full-time temporary position is estimated to be February 2027 - May 2027 with tentative, optional part-time hours to follow. $25-$28/hour
- Paid training with lead teacher to assist with transition into the role
- Paid federal holidays, in-services & breaks
- Schedule is 7am-3:30pm. Planning & cleaning time with no students provided 7:00-7:30, 3:00-3:30pm. Flexibility with end time (can end earlier)
- Unpaid 30min-60min lunch (teacher’s choice)
