Position Description

Afternoon Program Sitter

PNPC is looking for an Afternoon Program Sitter beginning September 2026. Our Afternoon Program serves children ages 3–5 who spend their afternoons playing outside and in one of our classrooms. They enjoy games, art projects, reading books, and generally having a great time!

This is a great position for someone who enjoys working with young children and is looking to build out an afternoon curriculum for a multi-age environment.

Schedule & Pay

• Monday–Thursday, 12:15 PM – 4:15 PM
• $26 per hour
• Consistent weekly schedule

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children ages 3–5 in free play and simple activities
• Assist with snack time and clean-up
• Help children transition between the outdoors and inside play time
• Maintain a safe, calm, and positive environment
• Greet parents and help facilitate a smooth, friendly pickup at the end of the day
• Support general tidiness of the classroom and materials

Qualifications

• Experience caring for or working with young children (babysitting, nannying, camps, classrooms, etc.)
• Warm, patient, and attentive demeanor
• Ability to set gentle, consistent boundaries
• Dependable and punctual
• Comfortable working as part of a small team

Training and orientation provided. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around young children and helps create a relaxed end-of-day atmosphere for our students.
