Position Description

Description: We are a family of 5 living in the little town of Littleton, Massachusetts. We have three children (ages 4, 6, and 9) and we are looking for a Summer Caregiver to join us from June through August. Live in or Live Out, please feel free to apply.  

About Our Family:

We are a warm, dynamic family with two working engineer parents who are busy but deeply committed to family life. What a Typical Summer Day Looks Like:

• Legos, board games, imaginative play, and art projects

• Playdates with friends

• Nature walks and birding in local conservation areas

• Swimming at Long Lake beach and our backyard pool

• Visits to local museums and playgrounds

• Occasional day trips into Boston,  Littleton has its own commuter rail station with direct service to the city

• Screen-free, play based days

What We Offer:

• Private bedroom in our home, rent-free (live-in is preferred but local students who wish to commute are also welcome to apply)

• All meals provided for live-in candidates

• $600/week stipend for live-in candidates, or hourly rate for live-out, open to discussion

• Use of family car for transporting the children

• Weekends are completely free, your time is your own, and you are welcome to stay in our home over the weekend as well

• Hands-on experience with three children across different ages and developmental stages

• Immersion in a Montessori-inspired, gentle parenting environment, valuable for any student interested in child development, education, or human services

Responsibilities:

• Up to 40 hours/week of childcare for children ages 4, 6, and 9

• Transporting children using the family car for activities, playdates, and outings

• Facilitating creative, active, and nature-based activities

• Organizing and supervising playdates

• Redirecting behaviors with kindness and understanding

• Supporting daily routines including meals, transitions, and outings

Ideal Candidate:

• Current undergraduate or graduate student in any major with a genuine interest in supporting and caring for children

• Familiar with or curious to learn about gentle parenting principles

• Warm, patient, and creative, someone who genuinely loves spending time with kids, and all that entails;  warm hugs and big feelings

• Confident, experienced driver with a valid license

• Enjoys the outdoors and hands-on, imaginative play

Dates: June – August (exact dates flexible)

Location: Littleton, MA (approx. 40 miles from Boston, with commuter rail access to the city)
