
Sharmaine Regisford
Sharmaine Regisford is a senior instructional designer at the University of Washington’s College of Education Cultivate Learning. She has more than 20 years of experience in both K-12 and higher education as a classroom teacher, online course facilitator and instructional designer. Regisford works closely with the Early Care and Education faculty at the University of Washington in supporting their online course offerings and ongoing badging efforts.
She is an active member of The Inner Circle in the Canvas Community and is committed to making the learning experience engaging while maintaining a focus on accessibility and mobile use. Regisford brings her enthusiasm and curiosity, clear communication of ideas, innovative ways of presenting information to adult learners, and her commitment to excellence in the design process.
Regisford’s practice is guided by core values. She reimagines achievement as meaningful milestones that mark progress toward learning goals. She values variety by welcoming different approaches in crafting effective solutions. Integrity grounds her work in the principles of Universal Design for Learning and the Community of Inquiry framework, where she emphasizes harmony among instructor, social, and cognitive presence to create fuller learning experiences.
Sharmaine Regisford has an M.Ed. in science education and an Ed.S. in educational technology.
