Dear College of Education community,
In light of President Cauce’s announcement regarding fully remote instruction through Spring quarter, I want to express to our community that the College of Education is ready to weather these extraordinary times together. The College’s leadership team, faculty and staff have been working diligently to prepare for this scenario, drawing from our expertise in designing and delivering remote instruction. Communications specifically relevant to faculty, staff, and students are forthcoming with guidance on the issues that matter most to you.
While Miller Hall and many other buildings on campus will be locked during this time, our faculty and staff are working and available remotely. For additional updates about College operations during spring quarter, please continue to visit our CoE coronavirus response page — I urge you to check regularly as we are updating as new information becomes available. You can also find information about UW operations, what to do if you feel sick, and more health and prevention information on UW’s COVID-19 website. Additional resources include the King County COVID-19 website and the CDC’s COVID-19 website.
These have been a challenging past few weeks for our community as coronavirus has impacted the rhythm and quality of our work and personal lives. And now it’s clear that the ride isn’t nearly over. Seeing how the College community is supporting one another — and extending our care to the youth and communities we serve — is inspiring and gives me tremendous hope for the days to come.
Dean, University of Washington College of Education
