I began my educational journey as a part-time community college student in California, then transferring the University of California Santa Barbara (BA Psychology, 2006) and later to Michigan State University (MA Student Affairs Administration, 2008). I have been in enrollment management and student services roles at Michigan State University, Fielding Graduate University, and Antioch University Santa Barbara where I have worked with adult learners and non-traditional students as well as "traditional" students. The greatest part of my job is assisting students in identifying their gifts and talents so they can make the most positive impact on our local and global community. One reason I am proud to work in the College of Education is that we take a holistic approach to advising students that supports the whole development of the student.
As the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising, I serve current and prospective UW students who are exploring academic study in the field of Education. If you're looking for advising for one of our three majors or the minor in Education, Learning, and Society, click here to find information on advising location and hours. From the beginning stages of learning about our major and minor to successfully meeting graduation requirements, I am here to advise students and get them connected to the resources they need to be successful.
The College has three majors and one minor:
Early Childhood & Family Studies Major (UW Seattle campus)
Education, Communities and Organizations Major (UW Seattle campus)
Early Care & Education Major (100% Online Degree Completion Program)
Education, Learning, & Society Minor (UW Seattle campus)
