What I Do: As an Academic Adviser in the Early Childhood and Family Studies major, I work with both current and prospective students. My goal is to help you with your academic planning, help clarify your academic and career goals, and provide guidance to resources in the College of Educaton and at the University of Washington.
About me: I have enjoyed a wide variety of experiences prior to arriving at UW in 2008, both in and out of higher education, and all involved in and around education and career exploration. I have held positions in Career Services, Academic Advising, and Admissions at The Ohio State University and at Columbus State Community College, and I also served as a coordinator of ESL Supported Career Programs at the College of Lake County north of Chicago. I have been a Job Developer and Coach in the mental health field, and an HR generalist and recruiter for a bank. The common thread throughout my experiences has been helping people - through problem solving, open communication, and sharing ideas. Hearing students' stories and learning from them helps my advising at all levels.
