What I do: I am the Academic Adviser for the Early Childhood & Family Studies major, and will work closely with you to complete your major and degree requirements. Please reach out if you need assistance---I'm happy to help! If you have questions about the other academic programs that we offer, then please visit our advising page to get in touch with the correct person.
About Me: I am a first- generation college graduate---I earned a B.A. in Women's Studies and a minor in Art History (2003), and later earned a M.Ed. and teaching credential (2006) at the University of California - Santa Barbara. Over the past 15 years, I have been in the field of education—working with educational non-profits like the YWCA, teaching social science courses at the high school level, supporting underrepresented students to get into college through the AVID college prep program, and most recently advising at the undergraduate level. I am very passionate about opening doors to higher education, and want all students to achieve their academic, career, and personal goals. Outside of the office, you will find me hanging out with family (and a very active child), reading young adult novels, and going to Zumba classes.
