Christian Love is a second year doctoral student in the Higher Education program working alongside Dr. Joe Lott. Born and bred from Detroit, Michigan, he attended the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where he studied psychology with a minor in Afroamerican and African Studies. Christian's research interests include black male student success, service learning and role-model mentorship, community development, underrepresented student recruitment/retention/graduation, and collective impact organizations. Before starting his master degree program in the fall of 2014 at the University of Washington, Christian served with City Year Seattle, King County as an 8th grade mentor and tutor at a south Seattle middle school. In his spare time, Christian enjoys ballroom dancing with his fiancee, volunteering, watching movies, and playing basketball/ football.
