Teachers Development Group 2020 Leadership Seminar on Mathematics Professional Development is an opportunity to learn from nationally renowned researchers in mathematics education how to use leadership knowledge and skills to support teachers in meeting the math learning needs of students typically underserved by schools. In particular, participants will learn how to create professional development opportunities that draw on cultural, linguistic, and mathematical resources, perspectives, and experiences of ethnically and racially diverse students.

Course Objectives

Participants will --identify key beliefs and teaching practices that build all students access, power, and agency within a mathematics classroom --learn how to support teachers in meeting math learning needs of students typically underserved by schools. --learn to create PD opportunities that draw on cultural, linguistic, and mathematical resources, perspectives, and experiences of ethnically and racially diverse students.
