At the Graduate Student of Color Orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet other College of Education students, faculty and staff. You wil get a better understanding of graduate education within the College! You will also learn about resources, building a community in the college, working with your advisor and additional tips for a successful transition to graduate school. This orientation is designed to make your transition as smooth and rewarding as possible!

What helps students of color succeed in their graduate school? In this session, students will hear about resiliency factors that would help them succeed academically in their journey at the College of Education. camaraderie.
10:55 - 11:25 Community at the College of Education
How do we do community at the College of Education? How we use our resources as students of color? In this session, current students will share their experiences in the College and their path to build a supportive and safe community.
11:30 - 12:30 New Graduate Student of Color Lunch
In addition to this orientation, new incoming students of color are highly encouraged to attend other events sponsored by the College of Education, such as All New Graduate Student Orientation and the New Student Reception.
