Academic Background & Research Interest

I have a BA in journalism and started my professional career as a Journalist of International Affairs in CNN Chile. I left this position to become a teacher through the program Teach for Chile (local TFA). My research interest focus on understanding what mechanisms and approaches are useful to develop trusting relationships between school districts, principals and teachers.

Personal Background

One of my passions is to meet people from different cultures. I have studied in Chile, South Africa, Germany, United States and worked in New Zealand.

What Led You to Pursue a Degree in Education?

I decided to stay in Education when I thought through Teach for Chile and I realized how much talent we were wasting by not providing equal opportunities to education quality for all students in Chile.

Why Did You Choose the UW and College of Education?

I choose the UW College of Education because I wanted to study in an equity driven and social justices orientate college. I wanted to be sure that I was going to learn what matters to restore the inequities in our society. I want to learn from the world and share that knowledge.

What Will You Do to Transform the World upon Graduation?

I want to learn from all the passionate teachers who have worked in isolation and have not had opportunities to share all the amazing things they have learned throughout their time in the classroom.
