Effective professional development is not just a “sit and get” for teachers. It’s an opportunity to support teachers with their student needs and their own instructional practice needs. How do school leaders determine meaningful PD at their school? And how do teachers identify meaningful goals to work on for their own classrooms that school leaders can then support?
School teams will leave this UW Center for Educational Leadership institute with a process for determining high-leverage professional development for their teachers. Teams also learn a specific process for choosing a teacher’s instructional focus.
