At a time when ongoing discussions have been raised about Black Lives Matter in light of recent events across the country affecting Black males, Professor Tyrone C. Howard (PhD '98) will examine the challenges and the promise in the education of African American males. Howard will share insights from his book on Black males and describe conceptual, empirical, and practical interventions that school leaders, practitioners, and concerned community members can use to improve the schooling experiences and outcomes for African American males, one of the nation's most marginalized student groups.
