Internship

Leaders learn by doing, so extensive field-based internships for all students are a cornerstone of the L4L curriculum. Each internship aims to stretch candidates’ leadership under the mentorship of experienced systems leaders. While course assignments are designed to maximize on-the-job learning in each student’s current role, the internship demands that candidates stretch beyond their current context to explore other aspects of the K-12 system. These experiences often take place in settings such as superintendent offices, educational service districts, institutions of higher education and nonprofit organizations, and are tailored to certification requirements for those pursuing the superintendent or program administrator credential.
