Position Description: 
Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM) has an opening for a Student Support Coordinator for Operations and Marketing for the remainder of 2022-2023 Academic Year (June 30, 2023) at Campus View Student Housing at Highline College in Des Moines, WA. The SSC is a part-time position through June 30, 2023 with the opportunity to live on-site and works closely with the Director to provide a safe and secure residential community for students to live, learn, and grow. General Statement of Duties: The Student Support Coordinator for Operations and Marketing oversees the implementation of policies, procedures, and a social media plan to enhance the overall residential experience of students. They will assist in developing a regularly occurring assessment/survey process, assist in the development a social media and marketing strategy, as well as oversee the various reporting, policy, and procedural tasks. This is a part-time position through June 30, 2023 with on-call responsibilities. An option to live on-site is available, but staff must live within a 30min driving radius to the building if the live on-site option is not selected. The primary goal of this position is to support the operational and administrative functions of the residential community that compliments the residence life experience. Duties and Responsibilities: (E) - Essential Function Staffing: • (E) Co-Supervise, train, develop, and evaluate resident assistant staff and work study office assistant staff (hiring subject to available applicants) • (E) Develop working relationships with the custodial and maintenance staff within the building. Administrative: • (E) Oversee purchasing card check-out process with RA staff • (E) Process and reconcile monthly purchasing card transactions for Director’s approval • (E) Plan and coordinate personnel and other resources necessary for the opening and closing of the residence hall at the beginning and end of each semester, vacation period, and other breaks in the academic schedule. • (E) Oversee the completion of Room Condition Reports, quarterly Health & Safety Inspections reports, Roommate Agreement, and other documents. • (E) Manage the distribution of room keys, key card access system, residence hall rules (Resident Guide), mailbox guidelines, and other pertinent information. • (E) Oversee quarterly health and safety inspections of rooms with student staff. • (E) Maintain and update inventory of all residence life equipment and furnishings in the residence hall. • (E) Coordinate the interview and selection process for Summer and Quarterly appointed work study office assistants; coordinate training and evaluation of department personnel; make recommendations for appointments and other personnel actions. • (E) Submit the following reports and information to the Director: incident reports, residence hall activities and problems, system of governance, and student services. • (E) Collaboratively work with the Graduate Resident Director to engage in assessment initiatives to determine student perceptions of residence life and Campus View living experience. • Coordinate regular staff meetings with Campus View Staff; attend regular Student Services meetings and professional development opportunities. • Assist in making necessary physical and policy arrangements in emergency occupancy overflow situations. • (E) Advise individuals and groups of students on specific hall concerns. Programming: • Assist in the implementation of the programming model within the hall. • Assist with the development of activities and programs within the hall, in order to achieve the educational goals of the College. • (E) Engage in assessment efforts to determine effectiveness of program components and student engagement • Encourage systems of student self-governance within the residence halls. Marketing: • (E) Manage Campus View social media accounts adhering to COCM standards for postings and frequency • Develop relationships and work collaboratively with the Highline College Communications and Marketing office Student Conduct: • (E) Preserve order within the hall by enforcing college and residence hall policies; coordinate with Public Safety and other college offices as needed. • (E) Ensure compliance with college, local and state policies regarding alcohol and drugs. Other Duties: • (E) Evaluate crisis and emergency situations and alert Public Safety and other college offices. • (E) Serve on supervisor level on-call schedule rotation with Director, Graduate Resident Director, and Office Assistant. • (E) Counsel individual students regarding personal concerns and issues. • (E) Responsible for appropriate and efficient referrals and for the safety and welfare of students. • (E) Make recommendations regarding residence facilities for students with ADA needs and ensures compliance of residence hall with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.9. • Represent Campus View at professional meetings. • Demonstrate sensitivity to students, faculty and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, sexual orientation, cultural, disability and socioeconomic backgrounds and learning styles. • Serve as a role model and mentor for students as appropriate. • Assist with departmental projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director. • Promote and attend College events and programs. • Serve on committees as assigned. • Other duties as assigned by the Director or designee. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: • Associate’s Degree • Relevant college student housing or college student services/engagement experience • Experience with and ability to work independently, as well as on a team • Demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity and success in creating inclusive communities • Previous after-hours, on-call, emergency response experience Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree • Relevant college student housing or college campus engagement (student government, orientation, admissions, etc.) experience with one or more years of live-in experience as an undergraduate student staff member • Experience with developing and implementing programming for community engagement • Possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Ability to solve problems and handle multiple tasks and priorities • Good planning, administrative, organizational, supervisory, and budget-management skills • Previous college student housing or college campus after-hours, on-call, emergency response experience Remuneration: • $18.00 p/hr. salary for part-time position (minimum 20hrs, maximum 25hrs per week, not including on-call responsibilities) • Option to live on-site in a private two-bedroom apartment at no cost (furnished or unfurnished) for the remainder of the position’s term (June 30, 2023). • All utilities, WIFI, and IPTV service included • Reserved parking space in a secure parking garage (1 space) • Pets allowed (1 dog or 2 cats maximum per person) • Position is not eligible for Benefits This position has required after-hours, on-call responsibilities, requiring staff who do not live on-site to reside within a 30min driving radius.
