Eastside Preparatory School’s vision is to inspire students to create a better world. Our mission is to guide students to Think critically, Act responsibly, Lead compassionately, Innovate wisely. The four mission components guide the development of curriculum as well as the evolution of the EPS culture. Founded in 2002, Eastside Prep was re-accredited by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) in January 2019. Eastside Prep has grown from 17 students in 2003-2004 to a total of 530 students for the academic year 2022-2023. The Resident Teaching program at EPS exists to identify and develop new independent school teachers, equipping them with the skills and habits of mind necessary to thrive in the secondary independent school classroom. EPS will hire two resident teachers during the 2023-2024 academic year. Position Summary: Resident teachers will co-teach students in one of several available subject matters (Computer Science, English, Fine and Performing Arts, History, Math, Physical Education, Science, Social Science, or Spanish Language). Resident Teachers will report to either the Middle School (grades 5-8) or Upper School Head (grades 9-12). All full-time teachers work as part of a teaching team to create an inquiry-based interdisciplinary program in which the academic disciplines are taught as systems and methods of thinking about significant content.
