he Husky Union Building at the University of Washington has an excellent opportunity for a Student Activities Graduate Internship within the Student Activities Office (SAO). The Husky Union Building (HUB) is a department within the Division of Student Life. The HUB supports the Husky experience with our mission to Enhance UW Community, Provide a Dynamic Event Center, and Foster Student Engagement. Leading with our core values of discovery, empowerment, equity, integrity, and service, our goal is that every UW community member feels welcome, cared about, and inspired to grow. As a graduate intern, you will play a role in contributing to this mission in a meaningful, fun, and memorable way, working alongside professional and classified staff in collaboration, and shared responsibility, to bring the HUB’s energy and culture to everyone who walks our halls.
The Student Activities Intern provides advice and guidance to student government, and registered student organization members and leaders regarding event and program planning, event fund procurement, interpretation of University policies, and training and leadership development for students with diverse academic, social, political, and cultural perspectives.
The Student Activities Intern may make all or a portion of this position a part of their academic requirements for practicum/internship with a graduate-level program in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, or similar program. The Student Activities Office may also accommodate individual learning interests or projects, so long as they do not conflict with regular work expectations.
