Position Description:
The University of Washington Office of Planning & Budgeting (OPB) is seeking an enthusiastic and inquisitive Policy Analyst on its Policy, Planning & State Operations (PPSO) team.
Reporting to the Director of Policy, Planning and State Operations, the Analyst will work within the highly collaborative PPSO team to track, analyze, and respond to policy and budget proposals during the upcoming state legislative session. The Analyst will also be responsible for:
• Synthesizing state and University policy and budget information into visual, written, and verbal communications for a variety of audiences;
• Assisting with the development of the UW's annual operating budget and the UW's operating budget requests to the state;
• Conducting fiscal, data, and policy analyses; and
• Leading research on national and state higher education policies and trends in support of the executive branch of the University, including the Provost and President.
The Analyst's work will also support internal University stakeholders and liaise with counterparts at other institutions of higher education in the state, the Governor's Office of Financial Management, and legislative staff.
Salary and benefits are competitive. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, ranging from $70k – $75k.
