Position Description: 
Kids Inc is a before and after school program, with a preschool on site, in Ballard looking for after-school teachers to implement activities and provide a fun and safe after school environment for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. We are a play-based program, focusing on social and emotional growth. OUR MISSION By focusing on personal connections with children, modeling proactive behavior and encouraging global thinking, we at Kids Inc. assist children in becoming positive and powerful members of society. OUR PHILOSOPHY We believe that children should have an active role in learning, and through social interactions and play children are given an opportunity to grow. The Kids Inc. community (staff, parents, and children) work together to provide a rich environment that supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of our children while promoting self-discovery and honoring diverse lifestyles. We offer a curriculum that reflects the collaboration between members of our community where learning becomes a joint experience. Duties - Create and implement activities that are child centered, play-based, and age appropriate - Work collaboratively with other after-school teachers, as well as with leadership - Communicate with leadership when problems arise - Maintain an engaging and developmentally appropriate environment - Follow all state and local health department and licensing laws - Keep up with required paperwork - Perform routine cleaning tasks Requirements - Minimum 16 years of age - Must be able to pass a background check - Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations - Negative TB test - Willingness to complete all required online and in-person trainings in a timely manner - Must be physically active and able to bend, stoop, stand/walk around, sit on the floor, climb stairs, and lift at least 25 pounds Nice To Haves: - Experience working in a child-care center setting - 30-hour Child Care Basics - Pediatric CPR & First Aid - Experience working with diverse populations Benefits: - Paid holidays - Paid time off accrues after 90 days - Access to Early Achievers grants and scholarships Salary: $17.50/hr and up depending on experience Job Type: Part Time with possibility of more hours Category: Education/Training Preferred Experience: 1 Yr Location: Seattle, WA
